Throwback Thursday: Sailing in the Sunset
There is something magical about seeing, and more importantly taking time to appreciate, a beautiful sunset, no matter where you find it (sunrise, too, of course). We got to enjoy this one - 8 of them - several years ago on vacation while we fixing dinner at the resort where we were staying. It's time to go back!! Although those we have here in Carlsbad are just as nice!

Here in NC - with the natural disaster we just had, I think that the agents who are showing the beauty of the Coast, even though there's terrible distrction just behind them, will ultimately be the ones that attract the most folks who still want to relocate. Great reminder Jeff.

We are heading to Sonoma area in October - and to Hawaii in November, I can't wait to sit and savor the sunrises and sunsets in both locations. In the meantime, I'll treasure the ones at home too. :)

We do have beautiful sunsets at our man-made Reservoir, but it can't compare to your California photos. And I realize the photo above was a vacation pic. Jealous! :-)
Hey Jeff, oftentimes I wonder if a western exposure looking at the ocean would work. I went over to the western coast of Florida for a remodel a few years ago and the owners had mechanical shutters that they closed nearly all afternoon due to the tremendous heat and glare they received every day from 4 or 5 until sunset. They said it was unbearable.
But at a resort that is another matter altogether.
You appear to be having more fun than you can stand!! Good deal.

You raise an excellent point. The sun from the west can get pretty intense and people I know right on the coast have sun shades and blinds, and some people have special windows. It can raise the interior temps in the summer (but that can be true with any west-facing house that gets alot of sun), and also cause discoloration on flooring and furniture if not protected. That said, there is something special about sunsets.

Good afternoon Jeff - that is a beautiful shot worth framing and putting in your office for mood. John Henry makes a good point. I don't find that with the eastern sunrise exposure.
