The First Frost.......

I always look at frost with some trepidation.  I have a citrus tree, and many plants that are very prone to freezing.

The frost puts the finishing touch on the summer flowers. We will be talking about spring flowers in a few months.

Sheila, frost always makes me think of winter, we are expecting on this weekend. I hope fall makes a longer appearance, so far not much of one here but, it's working on it. I hope your work of cleaning out the pots goes well. That's a big chore to tackle.

That sounds like a big job Sheila Anderson I hope the weather stays moderate while you complete all of the pots!

WE just had a decent freeze.   it is the start of the winter season real soon

That may be the case here by the weekend...or so we hear...I can wait !

Morning Sheila.

Our temps are going to be in the low to mid 60's this week.  90% chance of rain today.  Lows are near 40º

Sheila, we have many days of below freezing temps, and now solidly into the 60's again, and even seeing 70 on Sunday.   I still need to clean my pots out too.

We don't really have first frost in Sacramento in the way places where it snows do. I always looked at first frost in Minneapolis as the time to dig up the dahlias. We do get frost in Sacramento for a few days in December and sometimes January, generally, but frost adverse plants are protected if you plant them near the house or south facing.
