I now live in western Massachusetts. It is an area that is welcoming and beautiful. That said the weather of late has been really hot and humid so I was glad to see the first frost this morning. Now I can clean the pots of annuals outside and not feel badly. I have at least twenty pots to empty and clean and many to trash. It is cold but I will do my best for as long as it takes.
I always look at frost with some trepidation. I have a citrus tree, and many plants that are very prone to freezing.

Hi Myrl. It is a lot of work but another season to enjoy. Have a good evening. TY Sheila
The frost puts the finishing touch on the summer flowers. We will be talking about spring flowers in a few months.

Sheila, frost always makes me think of winter, we are expecting on this weekend. I hope fall makes a longer appearance, so far not much of one here but, it's working on it. I hope your work of cleaning out the pots goes well. That's a big chore to tackle.

Sheila, we have many days of below freezing temps, and now solidly into the 60's again, and even seeing 70 on Sunday. I still need to clean my pots out too.

Thank you Lisa. It was below freezing earlier but should go to the fisties later. Sheila
Hi James. That is certainly different than here. Have a wonderful weekend. Sheila
We don't really have first frost in Sacramento in the way places where it snows do. I always looked at first frost in Minneapolis as the time to dig up the dahlias. We do get frost in Sacramento for a few days in December and sometimes January, generally, but frost adverse plants are protected if you plant them near the house or south facing.
