Weekend Fun at My House

A couple times a year, I enjoy planning family dinners at my home.  Usually, I pick a theme, and cook, plan music and fun around it.  Two of my daughters have birthdays in October, so I picked this Saturday afternoon as a date to cook up several Indian dishes for us to enjoy.

For several years, I was fortunate enough to work at a software company with folks from around the globe. Several shared wonderful recipes with me which I used during my weekend event.  There was David Chima's Chicken Curry.  And, there was Jusbinder Singh's Potato Cauliflower Curry!  I also cooked up Tandoori Chicken Drumsticks, Lentils with Red Beans, Basmati Rice, and a Pumpkin-Butternut Squash Soup.  

The weather was perfect in Sacramento on Saturday.  The family had a great time!

Myrl Jeffcoat - You don't just have a get-together - you have a CELEBRATION for all occasions and you do it all in style! I think you could have made a great Event Organizer/Director in the Corporate world too and nobody would be sorry to go to any of those parties! 

Love the photos and how you told the story. And Baron is so cute! By the way, I am looking for 2 recipes that my Doctor from India told me to start eating. They are: Lentils with Red Beans, Basmati Rice.

I can't get my neighbors to share their recipes. And my doctor said, don't go to any store or pick any recipes. "If you're going to eat it, it has to be done right."

What fun to get together. We are having a birthday celebration at my house next week. 2 sons-in-law and a daughter are having October birthdays. I am doing most of the cooking with the help of a local BBQ restaurant.

Recently, we had another family gathering, at another family member's house.  They had help from Dickey's, a BBQ restaurant here.  It was easy, wonderful, and not horribly expensive.
