Look It Up Yourself! October 16 is Dictionary Day!

I can remember the heft and weight of that gigantic Webster's Dictionary in our home.

This big blue tome lived on the bottom shelf of the book collection.

Whenever my brother or I didn't know the meaning of a word, my parents told us to "Look It Up Yourself in the Dictionary." I spent many happy times learning new words this way.
