"Yay. It's almost time to go back to work."
Does it seem like your weekends (or any time off goes) quicker than the rest of time? I got to thinking as I was reading Khash Saghafi's post It's Friday (October 12, 2018) how we might be able to make our vacations and weekends seem longer. The weekend part probably doesn't apply to real estate agents because they work weekends. But it can apply to whenever you do find time to take off.
When you were a kid, remember how long it took for Christmas day to arrive? How about your birthday?
Anyway, while I was reading Khash's post, I got to thinking that if we actually set ourselves up to look forward to Monday, wouldn't the weekend seem longer? I mean doesn't time travel slower when you're really looking forward to something in the future?
What can you do to set yourself up to look forward to getting back from time off from work?
Just a rambling thought.
Morning Carol.
What is it like to have a day off? Even if I'm on vacation I still work. One of these days I'll retire for the third time, but right now I'm having a blast.

And maybe it would seem longer if we just focused on the time off as we have it, in other words, until the last second when it's time to prepare for work, don't even give it a thought!

A change in focus does change the overall perception of time.

Good morning Carol. You don't miss those thoughts of time until you retire. Not complaining though since now I spend my time with my grandson. Enjoy your day!

Good morning Carol. I don't know about this one. I try and embrace all the days is if they are the best.

I think you are on to something, Carol. I do know that trips I plan over a period of time seem to make the experience seem longer. There's the period of anticipation that comes before the journey, then the actual experience, and ultimately, the memories after.

I find that when I wake up very early I can accomplish so much more and of course the day seems longer especially on my days off. I agree with Myrl Jeffcoat that when we plan a trip ahead of time, the overall experience and time off is more enjoyable and does seem longer.

Hi Sheila Anderson
Each day is all we have so we might as well embrace it, right?

Hi Joyce Marsh
I do love those quiet hours of getting up early. And, you're so right, we can get so much more done and enjoy that nice long day!
I work all of the time and there are no days off. Or, maybe I'm on vacation all the time and my work is a vacation?
My day off was Thursday. It snowed all day and I stayed inside...no real estate showings.
