Amazing what just a little more effort on your part makes in either closing a deal or getting closer to one.  Or gives you a solid reputation for being special...

There are many ways you can go the extra mile and good reasons to do that.

1.  When your clients are on the edge of a decision and may back down.

2.  When they are asking for more information that you don't really need to provide but can, for just a very small investment in time.

3.  When you have done just about everything you can think of but need to put in just a bit more effort or time to make things work.

4.  When your clients are floundering and it's their responsibility to act but you can step in and keep things on track.

5.  When your patience has run thin and you have had to draw the line -- but you realize that if you don't yield a bit more, nothing will happen.

6.  When you can lose a deal completely if you don't offer a concession.

7.  And the worst case: when you have to close the deal and may have to lose some of your own money to do it but you have no choice except to walk away -- and end up with nothing.

8.  When you know you will lose a little, but in the end, gain much more in the long run.

9.  When you realize that that extra mile means that you will be known for your commitment, honesty, and excellence.

10.  When the extra mile helps those who cannot quite help themselves and goodness results.

11.  When going the extra mile maintains your integrity and conscience.

12.  When you realize going the extra mile is the right thing to do even though you may not even gain from it.

Many times going the extra mile makes all the difference, and always is remembered and very much appreciated.

I have gone the extra mile many times, Roy.  It's when the effort is not appreciated that annoys me.
