Wednesday Wilds in Home Inspections- Tumwater Canyon.

Wenatchee Home Inspections.

Coming back from an inspection I decided to take a quick drop down to the Wenatchee River in Tumwater Canyon. It was a little early in the afternoon for that nice evening light but still beautiful.

Tumwater Canyon is location just outside of Leavenworth Washington on the West (and actually north) via Highway 2 along the Wenatchee River.

If you are in the Leavenworth area a trip into the canyon is always well spent time.

"You might as well expect rivers to run backwards as any man born free

to be contented penned up."

Gorgeous!  Leaves already changing?

It sounds from that quote that Chief J found the reservation to be no fun.  He only lived to be 64.  I'll bet that free he would have lived longer.

I believe you to be correct on Joeseph. He spent his last years here in Washington on the Colville Indian Reservation. The government never let him back to Wallowas where they were from.

A pretty sad part of our American history and what they did to the Nez Perce.

Donald, what a stunning photograph, and love the mountains scenes as we have them too, but you have captured a beauty!

Joan Cox , I know you have many similar types of scenery. I have spent some time wandering around Colorado.

Donald - I believe that is one of the more spectacular photo scenes I've seen to day.  Autumn has defintely arrived.

Myrl Jeffcoat Yes autumn is here. We had our first snows up high not too long ago.

I think it was just over the border, in Idaho.  But no matter, it was his last stop.

Davy Crockett lost the election because Jackson, who moved all the Indians in the Trail of Tears, went after him when he disagreed.  After losing the election Crockett went to you know where.  He said, "My constituents can go to hell, I'm a goin' to Texas."

He wanted to go to the Rez in Idaho after his internment which is close to the Wallowas but he was sent to the Colville.

The Wallowas is a very beautiful area, was their ancestral land much as the Black Hills was the Lakotas. Of course, gold brought an end to both.
