5 Ways To Manage Fear: Way number 4.

By

The 4th way I have personally coped with the fear of the unknown was to write.

Write, write and write more.

Write down my goal.

Write down my plan to get achieve it.

Write down every single thing that could go wrong and write down every single way out of it.

Writing caused me to do research.

Research allowed me to understand the “unknown” better and I suddenly came to learn that the unknown was really not that unknown.

By the way, when I say write, I mean whip out a notepad and a pen and WRITE.

I would also date the pages so that I could look back and see where I was or what I was thinking at a specific point in time and then I can track my growth.

When you start seeing where you were and how far you have come, the sense of accomplishment starts exceeding the fear of what is ahead.

Sometimes, I would just scribble. Who knows. I don’t know why, but I just would.

Even THAT felt like a release of negative energy.

Way number 4 in managing fear was to write down my thoughts, goals and ways that I was going to conquer whatever was in front of me.

Follow me tomorrow for way #5!!

That's a great idea. Having a list of all that could go wrong, and what to do if those things happen, would be a great way to not only have a plan, but to get over the fear. There's a way out of each challenge.

Morning Khash.

I rarely write down my goals as they have not changed in over three years running.  Next year will be no different, same goal just changing the date.

Fear is False expectations appearing real. I like the way you handle it.

One Way to manage fear is to write down my thoughts, goals and ways that I was going to conquer whatever was in front of me.

Good morning Khash Saghafi,

I couldn't agree with you more! Writing things down do make you focus and think about things more clearly. As Michael Jacobs commented is makes it  "more real".

Excellent suggestions.  Writing down thoughts on paper allow you to analyze what you are thinking and whether or not there is viability.  Writing forces you to work out solutions and strategies.  Great thoughts her Khash.  Thank you

Khash, I like that you are proposing ways to cope with fear, but it seems to me that focusing and concentrating on it would compound it.

Whenever I feel impending doom, my wife always tells me I am crazy and "snap out of it"  She is usually right!
