Happiness Project in Kentlands: Hand Painted Stones
Many Kentlands residents have found hand painted stones on their porches or steps. The stones and notes are part of the Happiness Project by our neighbor Sheena Saydam. The stones are painted by young people in the community.
Based on comments on Nextdoor Kentlands, this project has been a great success. A little stone can have such a positive impact on residents of our community. We have received three of the stones at our home and they will be good reminders to be happy every day and of the kindness of our neighbors.
ActiveRain Ambassador Debbie Reynolds has challenged blogger members to write up to ten gratitude posts before Thanksgiving. It is a good time to count our blessings and Dolores and I are very thankful for having kind and thoughtful neighbors. You may wish to found and lead a Happiness Project in your home neighborhood. I can assure you that the response from the community will be very positive. This could be a fun project for existing groups such as scouts or teams of any kind. It is rewarding for the kids as well when they see that their efforts are well received.
