Homesellers are often surprised with the results of a home inspection when selling their home. Many believe their homes to be in near perfect condition until a detailed home inspection report reveals otherwise. Suddenly, an otherwise good contract is in jeopardy. To avoid this distress for both sides of the transaction, my office recommends that Sellers get a pre-listing home inspection to allow them time to correct defects or disclose them to the home buyer. Following are some steps to make the home inspection process less worrisome:
