Thankful for our beautiful Florida weather – Day 1 of Gratitude

 

 One of the things that appealed to me and my husband when we moved to Florida many years ago was the fact that East Central Florida has three seasons. After living up north and enduring the long, cold snowy winters, we were ready for a change and warmer climate. The change of seasons is more subtle here than it was up north and we look forward to each season.

 

 

The middle of next week a cool front is forecast to arrive and bring cooler, drier air. That will be a welcome relief from the highs in the 80s that we are currently experiencing.

Locals refer to Cocoa Beach as the greatest little town in the world and our weather, laid back, relaxed life style and friendly atmosphere are what brings our snowbirds back to visit each winter.

Our endless summer is one of the things I love most about living here. I'm thankful that we had the opportunity many years ago to move to Florida and that we did not pass it up.

The weather person at one of our television stations posted this on their Facebook page and it made me smile...it very accurately depicts our weather this time of year.

Today (and every day) I am thankful for our beautiful Florida weather and our endless summer.

Diana, we have four seasons in California, the difference is that it is more a temperate climate and after returning from Boston I really appreciate where we live, Endre

I think I'd rather deal with snow than a chilly monsoon season...I remember those days and it was hard to warm up with the damp chill in the air. Come to Florida and thaw out!

Endre, There is nothing like going from a warm climate to a cold one to make you appreciate where you live. Many years ago we flew up north for a death in the family and it was 35* and snowing when we landed. The next morning it was -5 below and windy...I could not get back to our 70* temps fast enough!

We are in our dry season, Myrl, and I know what you mean. It is hard to enjoy the beautiful weather when rain is needed. I heard on the news that there is supposed to be rain in Cali so hopefully you will see some relief.

Diana, so true, I used to live in Austria, Germany, Hungary, New York State, CT and MA now that I have lived in Los Angeles for over 22+ years and it would really be hard to get me back into a cold climate....Endre
