I Am Blessed & Grateful for My Soulmate
Surely by now many of you are sick of my gushing over Larry but I’m doing this to support Debbie Reynolds and her November Thanksgiving Challenge!!! (LOL)
I have hit the Trifecta when it comes to my husband. He is my friend, my soulmate, and my hero.
We never had a date but were part of our apartment complex group. We played backgammon and water volleyball every weekend and went out as a group for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights.
We went as a Brick and Bricklayer one Halloween circa 1978 |
Many years ago a psychic told me that Larry and I had been married to each other in at least of 3 of our previous lives. Of course, she also said that I’d been eaten by the lions during the time of the Romans and Christians, so I’m not putting a whole lot of stock in what she said.
What I know is that while we have a lot in common, we also balance each other...his strengths are my weaknesses and vice versa.
Where I tend to have a knee-jerk response to things, he has his fighter pilot calm and thinks things through.
I go from point A to point B to solve a problem and he sees all of the possible solutions before choosing one.
I love that he can take just about anything apart and figure out how to fix it. He loves to say that machines fear him.
When I think of the training and skills he needed to fly an F-4, I am in awe of him.
He is kind to everyone but has very little time for anyone who is arrogant or a blow-hard. (on that we are alike)
I have no idea what my life would be like had I not met Larry. We have been together for over 41 years but trite as it may sound, it seems like so much less than that.
So perhaps that psychic was right...we have been married to each other in our previous lives. Whatever the case, if you have not yet found your soulmate, my wish for you is that you someday will.
And if you have found yours (see Debe Maxwell’s post) then you know exactly what I’m talking about!
More today than yesterday, but not as much as tomorrow….
