This Thanksgiving, runners and walkers around Central Ohio will be gearing up for annual Thanksgiving Day runs. There is still time to register to run or volunteer.
The Chase Columbus Turkey Trot is a family tradition recongized by Runner's World Magazine as one of the nations" Best Hometown Favorite" holiday run. This run consists of a 5 mile course or a 2 Mile Walk N’ Talk course. There is also a kids fun run that is free if their parents are registered for the other races. This is a great event that you can get the whole family involved, even the kids in strollers. Procdeeds from the raise go to Easterseals.
The course runs through Upper Arlington, around OSU campus and the Ohio State Buckeyes’ Stadium.
Advanced registration is suggested but you can also sign up the day of the race
5 mile Race starts Thanksgiving Day, November 22 at 9:00am.
All finishers receive a medal, long sleeve race shirt and finish line treat
For more serious runner, try tackling the Hungry Turkey Run with a choice of 5K or 10K. This course takes you downtown along the Columbus Riverfront. There is also 100 meters Kids Dash. You can also run the race virtually this year! Check out their website for more details
Prizes include a commemorative medal and a gourmet cinnamon roll for every finisher.
The run donates is charity proceeds to the Mid Ohio Food Bank.
The Columbus Hungry Turkey Run is Saturday November 24
This year marks the 5th anniversay of the Powell Turkey Trot. Enjoy a 4 mile Run along a tree-lined course in downtown Powell. There is also a Wobble till you Gobble Kids Fun Run.
Finishers will receive a free craft beer (or custom socks) as well as a chance at cash prizes for the top runners.
There is no race day registration so please sign up in advance. Resitration ends on November 20
Powell Turkey Trot is Thanksgiving Day, starting at 7:15 am with the book drive, followed by the fun run and then the turkey trot.
Lots of race options at the Grove City Thanksgiving Wattle .
A kid’s fun run starts at 8:30 am and all the proceeds of the run go to the local Grove City Food Pantry.
The Turkey Leg is a 100yd dash for disabled athletles and their aides
Other runners and either walk or run along a 5K police protected course with live music along the way.
Plus a 12-mile Bike ride called the Rotisserie Roll
Register early to receive a discount on the entry fee
All finishers receive a medal, a long sleeve shirts and other prizes for the top finishers.

Many of the events allow you to donate to their charities if you are unable to run or attend. There are also plenty of volunteer opportunities if you wanted to donate your time.
