It's November and it's time to be "Thankful" for many....

It is November and a good time to be Thankful for many things, including the people we are close to and the many wonderful opportunities  that are presented to us that we normally just take for granted.

So, let me start out with how grateful I am, for having relocated to Los Angeles twenty-two years ago. It is hard to appreciate and understand what  a fantastic climate we live in if you have never been here. We on the other hand, too often  take it for granted and complain that it is too cold or too hot, depending if it is summer or winter in Los Angeles. Instead of being thankful and appreciate what we have for climate.

Well let me put it in perspective. I just returned from Boston, MA from a six-day fun, work and vacation combined with visiting friends, family and meeting new and old friends. Now with that said I have a new or should I say a renewed appreciation of the Los Angeles weather. These six days and five nights put things in perspective for me.

Let me share with you, when we arrived the first two days were hot, especially for November. It was 68 degrees and the humidity hovered around 75%- 90%, depending when you looked. I know it is quite unusual for the Fall weather in Boston, MA. This is  something I have forgotten and not been used to, for a long time. Hence in two days five showers later, I was wondering when things will change. Well the following morning the highs were in the very low fifties and high forties.  I was so glad, that we packed cold weather gear as well. Now by the fifth day, the climate changed again, it was cold and rainy and the day we were leaving  Boston, MA had torrential downpours.

It did not take long for me to be very grateful and be very appreciative of the wonderful our temperate climate is here  in Los Angeles. So as I am sitting here writing this post the windows are closed because it is “freezing outside in Los Angeles” it is 64 degrees and 5% humidity.

Now if you do not appreciate your climate where you live and are considering relocating to Los Angeles, CA, please reach out to me and I will help you find a new home. Just on a side note Diane mentioned to our friends and relatives that these past six days confirmed that I will never move back to the Boston area strictly because of the climate. Since I have been spoiled living in Los Angeles for the past twenty two years.

Hello Endre - travel can be good but you have proved there's no place like home. And that's not trite, simply thankful.

Hmmm....we are appreciative of our change in temperatures and seasons...though there are times when "plowing it" can get a little bit old...Northeast and Midwest means "rolling with change"  for all things weather.

Morning Endre.

As I am writing this it is 16º outside with a forecast of light snow and a high of 30.  64º would be wonderful

I have never been fond of the cold damp weather in the northeast. It can chill you to the bones. I’m a warm weather girl for sure.

Endre, this is the time of year I'm very envious of your fabulous climate. Colder temps and gray skies are not my idea of fun! LA climate is definitely something to be thankful for.

Boston weather wasn't too bad while we were there but, I'm used to that type of weather, Endre. I've always wished we had your type of weather but, I do like a good rain and the green that follows the rain and envelops you here in Charlotte!

Endre Barath, Jr. I know it's hard to believe anyone could like our climate when we get winter temps of 30 degrees below zero (62 dergees below freezing) but I actually do thike the wild swings we have here. I would however be up for a little global warming to make our summers just a tad bit longer.

So, 22 years ago when you relocated to Los Angeles I was just about to move there to go to school in Santa Clarita. I did enjoy the weather, although I always came back to Idaho for the summers because I worked at a summer camp for 8 years. I lived in Santa Clarita for 6 years until I moved on to Washington state and then back to my home state of Idaho. -Kasey
