Thankful For Being Able to Travel
There are some things we take for granted. We’ve always had them and wouldn’t even think of not having it or how our lives would change without them.
Having a United States Passport is one of them. I know plenty of people who wanted to visit the United States but couldn’t get a Visa for whatever reason. Sometimes, those reasons don’t make any sense but how can you argue with the consulate that’s issuing the visa.
Then, there are some people who have everything they need to travel but due to health reasons, they can not. One of my close friends who lives in New Jersey has MS, she’s one of those people who can not travel easily. I had promised her that I would drive her to FL from New Jersey, it was very difficult. We had to make frequent stops, about every 30-40 minutes. Needless to say, it took us 27 hours to get to FL, it usually takes me sixteen hours when I drive alone.
Having a passport, especially United States passport is a privilege. Many would give up everything they ever owned and know to obtain one if they had a chance.
Sometimes, I’m moving too fast, making my travel plans and don’t stop to think what I’m able to do today didn’t come easy. I love to travel, whether be within the US or overseas, I just can’t imagine how different my life would be if I didn’t have the freedom to do so.
Thank you Debbie Reynolds for this great contest.
