Thanksgiving is behind us and everyone is getting into the Christmas Spirit in Bucks County. From festive furry friends to holiday light shows, Bucks County offers Holiday festivals, events, and activities for you to celebrate this holiday season. Celebrate the Holiday season and spread the yuletide joy with the whole family. Here is a list of some of the top Christmas Happenings in Bucks County.

24th Annual Holiday Light Show
Shady Brook Farm

November 17 – January 6 
Watch Santa arrive via helicopter on November 27 at 4 p.m. Don’t miss your chance to shake his hand and grab a candy cane before he sets up in the greenhouse to take photos and listen to all of your Christmas wishes! Don’t leave without a car or wagon ride through the Holiday Light Show. With more than 3 million lights illuminating the vast farm, this 2-mile ride around is something to behold on a chilly wintry night.

40th Annual Holiday Festival of the Trees
Pearl S. Buck House
November 13 – December 30 
Each year, the rooms of the Pearl S. Buck House in Perkasie come to life with the incredible glow of holiday decor. Tickets are required for the tours, which showcase trees and vignettes designed by local artists, decorators and community groups. This National Historic Landmark is the perfect setting to ring in the holiday season.

A Very Furry Christmas at Sesame Place®

Head to Sesame Place® in Langhorne for a special holiday performance from everyone’s favorite furry friends. The fun music and dance specials are a festive way for the family to enjoy some fun holiday spirit while singing along! Don’t miss the daily Neighborhood Street Party Christmas Parade, train ride tour through the Twiddlebugs’ Gingerbread Cookie Factory on the Sesame Place Furry Express, or the chance to meet Lightening the Reindeer! On opening day, join Santa Claus himself as he illuminates the park. Brand NEW this year is the Merry Marketplace and 1-2-3 Christmas Tree Show!

America’s Oldest Tree Lighting
Perkasie Borough

December 1 
Attend the 108th annual tree lighting ceremony of Perkasie Borough. Gather at the Perkasie town center at 5:00 p.m. to enjoy all the events that will be going on like, pictures with Elsa and Olaf from Frozen, Horse & Carriage rides, music, food, dancing, and of course Santa! Every child who brings a non-perishable food item for Pennridge FISH, is entered into a drawing to win the honor of climbing the stage and flipping the switch to light the tree!

Be a part of Bristol Riverside Theatre’s holiday tradition. A lineup of exceptionally talented entertainers will take the stage to perform your favorite carols and other classic holiday songs.

Enjoy the classic story of Annie this season, with memorable musical favorites you can sing along to like Hard Knock Life, Tomorrow and I Think I’m Gonna Like It Here. Shows run at select times and dates in December.

Annual Crossing Reenactments
Washington’s Crossing Historic Park

December 9 & 25
Held every year on Christmas Day at 1 p.m. at the location of Washington’s Delaware River crossing is a reenactment of the treacherous crossing itself! If you are unable to make it on Christmas Day, attend the dress rehearsal. The park will be decked out in period wreaths, candles and holiday trees, too, starting November 23!

Bucks County Ale Trail
Grab a brew (or two!) at one of the many breweries along the Bucks County’s Ale Trail! Relax and kick back with seasonal flavors like Nova Espero English Old Ale at Great Barn Brewery and Ginger’s Spice Wheat Beer at Naked Brewing Co. that are sure to leave you wanting to try more. Bucks County Wine Trail
Sample winter wines at tastings along the Bucks County Wine Trail! Indulge in seasonal hand-crafted wines, like Nana’s Apple Pie at Buckingham Valley Vineyards & Winery or Magic Spice at Vivat Alfa Winery. Each winery offers a selection of samples to taste and tours around their property.

Aldie Mansion
December 2 
Christmas at Aldie is a favorite holiday tradition. Historic Aldie Mansion’s Halls have been decked and are ready for the holiday season. Delight in holiday-themed cocktails and a delicious dinner from Jeffrey A. Miller Catering. This event benefits Heritage Conservancy’s mission of preserving and protecting the natural and historic heritage. Free Historic Holiday Tours of Aldie Mansion take place on December 17, 18 and 19.

Christmas in the Castle Tour
Glencairn Museum

November 23 – January 6 
Tour the beautiful Glencairn Museum, depicting the holiday season for the famous Pitcairn family from the 1940’s through the 1970’s. This 45-minute tour gives a glimpse into the elegant way that the Glencairn castle would have been decorated. The tour has a $12 participation fee and takes place at 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. on weekdays and 1:00 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. on weekends. Christmas in Fallsington
Historic Fallsington

December 9
Christmas in the quaint old school village is a perfect way to celebrate the holidays with family and friends! Attend the town’s tree lighting at the Stagecoach Tavern on December 9 and guided tours throughout the village Tuesdays through Saturdays by appointment. The historic Fallsington tree is decorated with handmade ornaments by the children of William Penn Center Preschool and Kindergarten.

Christmas Festival & Gingerbread House Competition & Display
Peddler’s Village
November 16 – January
Peddler’s Village in Lahaska is full of holiday spirit during the wintertime offering many different experiences throughout this festive season. Stop by the Christmas Festival December 1-2 to warm yourself with cider and enjoy the picturesque decorations. Then, be sure to explore all of the holiday shopping in the Village during the Gingerbread House Competition & Display! The Village is lluminated all season long!

Ebenezer Scrooge’s Big Playhouse Christmas Show
Bucks County Playhouse

December 7 – 30 
Back by popular demand, Bucks County Playhouse will perform Ebenezer Scrooge’s Big Playhouse Christmas Show for the 2018 holiday season. Based on Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, the show features only five actors playing the roles of dozens of characters.

Farmhouse Christmas Craft Show
Moland House

November 23 – December 1 
Take a step back into history at the beautiful Moland House in Warminster and admire the talent of more than 50 local crafters. Search for the perfect handcrafted gift for your loved ones, like pottery, floral arrangements, wreaths, wall decor, bags, jewelry, candy and more! The craft show is restocked daily and is open 10 a.m. – 5p.m. daily, and until 8 p.m. on Fridays.

Byers’ Choice in Chalfont has been handcrafting Caroler® figurines for more than 40 years. Stop in the factory to see how they are made, tour their Christmas Museum, and catch the Gerald Dickens’ A Christmas Carol on December 7 or 8.

These two historic Doylestown locations are offering a plethora of holiday activities, including Winter Wonderland Tours of Fonthill Castle December 1-31; Holiday Festivities for the Family on December 9; Mercer Museum Holiday Open House on December 11; Candlelight Holiday Tours December 28-29 through Fonthill Castle; the annual Holiday Show put on by students of Delaware Valley University December 3-4; plus, a menorah lighting on the first night of Hanukkah with Temple Judea’s youth group!

Taking place alongside Fonthill Castle, Moravian Pottery & Tile Works offers a great opportunity for holiday festivities with the family. A holiday learning experience that you can take at your own pace is a perfect way to spend a wintry weekend! During Holiday Festivities for the Family on December 9, enjoy a self-guided tour with hot chocolate, holiday music and a visit with Santa.

There’s lots of fun to be had at the Market at DelVal in Doylestown this season! First, Santa arrives by helicopter to the farm on November 24. Then, stop in for gingerbread house decorating December 1 and 2! Grab brunch with Santa at Brunch with the Big Guy on December 8, 9, 15 and 16.

James A. Michener Art Museum

December 11 
From 7–9 p.m. enjoy a wonderful evening of holiday festivities with free admission to the Michener for a special event of seasonal performances. Tours of the exhibition The Gift of Giving will be available, as well as family fun games, books and art inspired activities.

Bolton Mansion

November 30 - December 2
Spend this season at a home away from home! The historic Bolton Mansion’s annual Holiday House event authentically decorates each room for the holidays and has activities to be found all throughout the mansion. The Mansion features a decorated 9-foot tree, musical visitors, baked goods, hearth cooking, hot cider, candy and Santa in the blue room.

Pennsbury Manor

December 6 – 7
Enjoy a night of crackling fires, singing carolers, hot cider and dancing shows at William Penn’s former summer home! Enjoy the beauty of Pennsbury by candlelight from 6–9 p.m. both evenings. Toss a sprig on their Yule Log Bonfire and make a wish for the New Year!

Holiday Tours
Aldie Mansion

The Heritage Conservancy will be hosting tours of their lavishly decorated Aldie Mansion for the holidays, just like the original Mercer family used to! Come and see part of Bucks County’s unique heritage at its best. Tours are $12 a person, $10 for senior citizens, and $8 for Heritage Conservancy members. Children 12 and under are free but require adult supervision.

Homicide and Holly and A Dickens of Murder

November 17 – December 29
If you’re looking for more of a thrill this season, a murder mystery dinner is the best way to spend a Friday or Saturday evening. Without A Cue Productions puts on several scandalous dinner shows this December in Peddler’s Village and Fisher’s Tudor House.

Newtown Annual Holiday Open House
Newtown Historic Association
December 1
The 56th annual open house tour gives participants a one-of-a-kind look into many private local homes and historic locations throughout Newtown decorated for the holiday season. The event will start at the Half Moon Inn. Enjoy a self-guided walking tour of the six private residences and six public buildings featured.

The North Pole Express & Santa’s Steam Spectacular
New Hope & Ivyland Railroad

November 19 – December 31 
Sip hot chocolate and enjoy a freshly baked cookie while singing along with the railroad’s roaming musicians as they play Christmas carols on these two rides. Meet with Santa on the steam locomotive pulling Santa’s Steam Spectacular and share your Christmas wishes with him. The North Pole Express offers similar amenities but is pulled by a vintage diesel locomotive instead. Gear up in pajamas and enjoy the relaxing holiday ride either first class or coach through historic Bucks County.

The Town and Country Players Holiday Show
James A. Michener Art Museum

December 14 – 16
Listen to the Town & Country Players sing holiday songs and celebrate the music and joy of the holiday season. This event is for one weekend only, so make sure to get tickets for the whole family early from the Michener’s box office! The Dec. 14th show is at 8:00 p.m.; Dec. 15th will have a 2:00 and 8:00 p.m. show; and Dec. 16th will have a 2:00 p.m. show.

Victorian Christmas
Parry Mansion

December 8 – 9
Celebrate Christmas like they did in the 1800’s at the Parry Mansion. Come by between 1 – 4 p.m. to take a tour through the home of Benjamin Parry, the Father of New Hope. Learn about the Christmas traditions from the Victorian era, sing carols, and try some authentic food.
