Sellers . . . Please don't decorate too much over the holidays . . . my buyers are looking around like they are shopping in the Christmas Decorations section!

My buyers and I went to one of the homes on the list of homes we were touring and we walked in and my buyers were so facisnated by all of the decorations, they forgot what the space was like, what the kitchen looked like, whether the stove was gas or electric.  They asked me more questions about the house that we just spent 30 minutes in because the decorations were so fabulous.  Making your home look like you are walking through a Christmas decorations aisle of a store is not going to help you sell your home.  It distracts the buyers and the agent. Less is better in this case.  I want my buyers to focus on the home and not the decorations.  The decorations were really beautiful!

Great information, thanks for sharing.  Sometimes a listing agent need to explain the importance of properly decorating ones home.

Thanks Richard.  It really was a beautiful sight but when selling, it really distracted all of us.
