For the past couple of years I've been working with a Business Coach with one of the large Coaching companies for REALTORS.  I've enjoyed the coaching and found the direction I had been provided to be outstanding.  I am very happy with Coach Billy.

One of the things that Billy has been harping on with me for the past few months is working the system.  Work the system and it will work.

The last few days have had some really tough personal times for me.  I have a family situation going on that has created a great deal of turmoil and trauma for me.

So I've been working the system.  Doing everything that Coach Billy encourages me to do.  I've done the personal notes EVERY day ... I've been doing Pop-Bys ....Sending out things of value .... etc

Well ... last night as I was sitting on my front porch my Blackberry went off letting me know I had an e-mail.  I picked up the e-mail and it was from a real nice guy that I help about 2 years ago with a rental.  He was moving into the area for a new job he was taking and needed a place to live.  We didn't spend a lot of time together but we had fun.

Well he and his wife are ready to buy.  And they aren't contacting anyone else because I've kept in touch with them and they were so please with the service they got last time.

So Coach Billy was right.  And then just a bit ago a client from last year called with a referral.  Work the system!  That's what Coach Billy always tells me.

That's encouraging to here!  I write at least 2 personal notes each day, do check-in calls, and send out things of value as well.  It's encouraging to hear your feedback, because I believe the system works!

I think the contacts are important.  I am taking a S.M.A.R.T. Program course offered by Floyd Wickman.  The emphasis there is building a Book of Business which generates referrals through constant contacts with your keyy 200 or so past clients, friends and relatives.  Of course you need to do other things as well but the main point is to schedule a SMART week and stick with that schedule (even the planned days off to rechrage/vacation).  Work expireds and FSBOs and the stream of business should begin to happen in 7 to 8 weeks.  I'm in week three and it seems as though it may be working.

I have been concentrating on my systems in greater detail lately.  I agree that they do make a difference and stories like your are just the shot in the arm I need to keep me on track.  Thanks for sharing.

We use an automated system as well to stay in touch with our Realtos and here lately I have been slacking because I didn't see it making a difference. Thanks for the post, it has encouraged me to get back on track.  Have a great weekend.
