Carla Madison Rec Center in Denver

For this local community installation spotlight, we would like to shine a light on the Carla Madison Recreation Center. Fans of our Denver property management blog will recall that each month we devote one blog post to a singularly great reason to live in Denver. We have many people moving here each month, and many of our existing tenants are entering their 2nd, 3rd and 4th years in the city. This rec center is a great choice for everyone in Cheesman Park, Congress Park, Cap Hill, City Park, Park Hill and Cherry Creek. It is nice and central to all of these parts of town and is large enough to accommodate a large amount of people at any given time. There is plenty of parking in the parking lot, just north of the Rec Center. After hours gym goers will be able to use the Denver East parking lot in the high school, or any street parking nearby. Upon walking up to Carla Madison, you will see a brilliant LED display changing with each pulse and breath as if connected to the athletes inside. And you would be correct for thinking that. The LED’s are hooked up to the Cardio machines and will change depending on the energy output from the building. We have yet to see the lights slow down as the cardio room is usually very packed. You won’t have trouble finding a machine opening, but at any given time there may only be a handful open. You should grab one as soon as you see it and hang on for a suitably fulfilling workout. There is a large weight area, basketball courts, lap pool and pool for children, as well as a rooftop climbing wall. This climbing wall is weather dependent obviously and remains closed for most of the winter. The Rec Center opens at 5:30am Monday through Friday and closes at 9pm. Saturday and Sunday hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm. There are a ton of classes to go to as well. You can view all the schedules online and see that there are a variety of classes offered, with varying skill levels across multiple athletic domains. Everything from spin to yoga and all else in between is on offer. There is a special Black Friday deal for 40% off an annual membership. Although this has passed, you may want to check out the facilities with a free day pass on your first visit and see if it is the place for you.
