There are so many places online to ask a question of the community. Where are consumers (buyers and sellers) going online to ask questions?

I don't think many are asking questions here on Active Rain.

Are they going to Trulia Voices, Zillow, Merchant Circle, City-Data?

There really are too many to track. I try to stay on top of these communities, but it seems like my Google Alerts don't pick up the discussions on these various boards.

Do any of the tech folks have good data on which site is getting used the most? Does it differ regionally throughout the U.S.?

ASk yourself why you want to look at what people are asking.  Is it for business?  Good samaratin?  Or just to see what is out there.  this will tell you where to look.

Adam-

I want to make sure people are getting the straight scoop. (and I want them to know that I can give them the straight scoop if they are looking to buy or sell real estate in my area.)

I'm not sure how this helps me answer my question. I know there has to be some data out there..

I think in many ways it is pretty local and really depends on the questions you're looking for... My guess is that the majority of questions that are potentially relevant to your business are being asked by consumers directly into the Google search tool.   The amount of traffic I see that ends up at Rain City Guide from Google that includes a full sentence with a question mark at the end is somewhat astonishing.

Dustin-

That is an interesting perspective. I don't see "questions" coming up very often as search phrases for either www.myleavenworth.com or www.iciclecreekhomes.com

From my understanding, the conventional wisdom would say that means the RCG traffic is older and less tech savvy, but I have a hard time believing that. (Correct me if I'm wrong, but I understand that older users are more likely to spell out a question on a search engine.)

The reason I ask this question is that I found a bunch of consumer questions at city-data.com. Trulia voices seems to be overloaded by agents and zillows lack of data locally makes them a non-player here.

I think that consumers may be attracted to asking the community for help, I just wonder which model has the most traction.
