Some say listing a house for sale is not a good idea because most home buyers 
are busy with holiday activities and not looking at homes..Really? Who made that up?
Keep in mind that real estate is very local, what works in Florida may not work in other states. I've been in the business long enough to know that not everyone who calls to see homes around the holidays is not serious buyers, in fact, many visitors love to see what they could buy in Central FL just because..They most likely will never move to the area, other than visiting The Walt Disney World, they haven't researched the area for jobs, schools, transportation, taxes, home prices. As a responsible REALTOR®, I will not be going house hopping for entertainment. Not everyone will be happy about this decision I made after spending days/weeks with visitors as a new agent.
Serious buyers call ahead of time to find an agent, get their pre-approval from the lender prior to their visit and know more or less which area they wish to live in.
The truth, right time to list your house for sale is when you are ready as there are always home buyers.
If you are on the fence, here’s a list of 6 reasons to list your house during the holidays;
1. Serious buyers are out previewing homes- You may have fewer “lookers” and more serious buyers who are willing to go out in the cold, snow, rain and work around their holiday activities. You’ll be more likely to get an offer around the holidays.
2. Less Inventory- While others may be waiting for the new year to list their homes, you will have less competition to worry about.
3. An urgency to buy a home- Some MUST buy a home before the end of the year for tax reasons.
4. More time to move out- Buyers who must purchase a home by the end of 
the year may not need to occupy the home immediately, you’ll have plenty of time to pack and move into your new home.
5. Festive Homes- Your home may show better during the holidays. Picture yourself walking into a home from the cold weather, the warmth from the fireplace and seeing simple decorations. You will feel at HOME!
6. More Online Searches- People have more time away from their work to search online for their new to be home, why not have your home marketed all over the internet!
