If you want to produce a video listing presentation, you might consider the 'thought leadership' approach to create more engaging content and additional spin-off marketing tools. Here's what you'll need:
Step 1. Buy an easy-to-use camera and start playing with it. Or borrow a friend's.
Step 2. Get your husband or kids to follow you around your own home with said camera while talking about ways to improve the value if you were to sell, with special emphasis on how an agent, whomever that might be, can help showcase the improved value. You are not advertising your business so much as you are advertising your knowledge. This is what it means to be a thought leader. Then afterwards, go through again from a buyer's perspective. This should be worth 6 or more episodes. They should be no longer than 2 to 5 minutes in each area. Once you've got some experience behind the camera do this again with your listings, except focus on the value to buyers, again focusing on your expertise and not your business.
Step 3. Stabalize the camera and film an introduction and conclusion. Introduction: Name the series, state your mission and a short elevator speech about yourself, your service and don't forget the website name where they can find more home tips (your blog). Conclusion: Your name, Name of series, and web site where they can find more tips. Maybe add a catch phrase like, "Those who fail to plan, plan to fail" or "Keeping real estate real". I like that last one.
Step 4. Download the videos to your computer and use a movie software application to create the individual episodes, add the intro and conclusion and create smooth segue's in between. If you don't know how to do this and don't want to spend time on the learning curve, I suggest you outsource this part. You might seek help here from a neighborhood kid looking for a few bucks, a film student at the local college or a professional to whom you email the raw footage.
Step 5. Tubemogul.com, post them on your blog and add some of them to your listing presentation as an example of your expertise and thought leadership. Again, if this is too time consuming or over your skis, hire a professional.
The keys here are thought leadership, producing several short podcasts and broadcasting a wide net. For the time and cost it takes to create a listing presentation video, you have produced at least one that shows you are working hard for your clients, tech savvy and knowledgeable. Plus you dramatically improve the chances of a prospect finding your blog site.
