Come On Baby, Light My Fire!
Did you know that 41% of new homes that were sold in the United States last year had at least one fireplace? People who purchased in St. George Utah did so more for atmosphere, not necessarily to warm their homes.
Mild southern Utah winters are a draw to people looking to get out of icy, freezing, arctic areas to better weather here! Golfing, hiking and biking are popular sports that get people outdoors throughout the year.
To prove this point, I went on the MLS for Washington County, Utah to see how many available homes boasted a fireplace. Here are the results:
- Out of 620 homes listed in St. George, 217 had a fireplace.
- Out of 206 homes listed in Washington City, 39 had a fireplace.
- Out of 155 homes listed in Hurricane, only 39 had a fireplace.
- Out of 61 homes listed in Ivins, only 22 had a fireplace.
- Out of 47 homes listed in Santa Clara, only 19 had a fireplace.
* Homes may have had more than one fireplace.
There is nothing more romantic than a lively fire dancing in the hearth to up the ambiance factor. So, come on baby light that fire! And if you know anyone looking for a home in the southern Utah area, have them light my phone up.
