6000 Luminarias
It will be the 46th celebration of the "Festival of Lights" in Tlaquepaque on Dec 8th. Come and spend the whole day! The activities will delight old and young alike. The lighting of 6000 luminarias will take place at 5:00 PM sharp. This is something to see. Anyone can sponsor and present a luminaria on behalf of a special person who may be fighting sickness. It is a great way to start this holiday season of giving. Listen for the tolling of the bells which will signal the lighting!
A Metamorphosis
You will be amazed at the effect of thousands of luminarias lining walkways and courtyards. The subtle glow of light creates a metamorphosis that warms the area.
The Signature Element of the Village - The Sycamores
The sycamore trees that entwine the buildings within the village are a sight in and of themselves. Now imagine those same trees wrapped in thousands of tiny lights adding to the joy of the Christmas season.
*Park In Uptown
It is highly recommended to park in one of the public parking lots in Uptown and taking the free shuttle to Tlaquepaque. Local residents as well as visitors come from all over to see this spectacular Christmas event.

Tlaquepaque North
Tlaquepaque North is less than a year old and you would think it had been around for decades. This Arts and Crafts Village with 16 Galleries to shop in was designed to look old. The original village on the south side of the street was built around the Giant Sycamores to fulfill a promise. Local artisans were used to build the plaza and it was built without major plans. Truckloads of Mexican artifacts were brought up from Mexico to incorporate into the buildings. Old doors, iron gates and other iron works, old carts and wagon wheels. You will see all of this within the walls of this village. At Christmas time, it is transformed into Christmas village that you would find in the heart of Mexico.

Free Shuttle Service running from 2:30 pm to 8:30 pm from three locations: the Uptown municipal parking at 260 Schnebly Road, Brewer Lot located 250 Brewer Rd. and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, located at 160 Mormon Hill Rd, in Sedona. Please consider using these services for your convenience, as parking is limited at Tlaquepaque.
