In late April I reported on Hawaii air travel 3 weeks after
the shutdown of Aloha and ATA airlines. At that time the Kauai airport
parking lot seemed like a ghost town compared to it's prior overflow status.
Well a month later I made another interisland trip and all seems back to normal
(except for ticket prices). The parking lot was again overflowing with
cars parked on curbs and sidewalks and others cruising the lot looking for a
vacant spot. Flights were totally full with not an empty seat to be found.
Of course that meant higher ticket prices as well. Now admittedly a
sampling of parking lot usage is not very scientific but it does lead one to
think that perhaps interisland travel is back to normal. Have the boom
times have returned?

Aloha from Hawaii. Since making the move from an area where Winter meant it was cold and snowy to one where it means rains sometimes last 15 minutes instead of 5, I've made other changes as well including moving from an engineering management position to a real estate professional. I enjoy change and both have been good. I use my blog to discuss most anything relevant to the Hawaii real estate market and my new profession including tips, local information, Hawaiian lifestyle, and embracing change.
