Golden Turmeric Milk
A Good Health Drink - Many people are suffering with cough, flu and cold symptoms this year, and are seeking relief and foods to help boost their immunity.
I thought I would share this wonderful recipe for "Golden Turmeric Milk" that I have used over the years. This is a soothing, comforting drink that has many health benefits.
I prefer to seek out natural cures over being heavily medicated. A few years ago when I was very ill and it seemed that I just couldn't shake the cough and cold, I came across this blog with the recipe for Golden Milk which is also known as Turmeric Milk.

Here's the Recipe:
- I cup of milk (you can use almond milk, coconut, or regular fat free or whole milk)
- 1 tsp of ground turmeric preferably organic or turmeric spice
- 1 tsp honey preferably organic
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- Optional add some grated ginger
- Optional 1 Tblspoon coconut oil
- Optional A pinch of black pepper or cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp raw honey (optional)
Warm the milk first, then add in the turmeric, honey and cinnamon.
You want to let this mixture cook slowly for awhile to let the flavors get more intense.
Warm the milk up to the temperature of hot cocoa and simmer for at least 15-20 mins
Ground turmeric has a very strong pungent aroma and is a rich deep yellow color that will stain so be careful.
Turmeric is also available in herbal teas, and other drinks which are also very healthy for you.
