A Snowball Tree in Scottsdale Arizona? Scottsdale is in the desert with blue skies and no snow, but it is true and when the tree blooms it is a sure sign that Santa is coming soon even to Arizona.
I was on a walk along the Scottsdale Canal last week and found several of these Snowball Trees in full bloom which occurs during December when temperatures drop to a mild 55 to 65 degrees.

Note the view of the famous Camelback Mountain in Scottsdale at dusk along the hiking path of the Scottsdale Canal near Hayden Road and the Canal just south of Indian Bend Road. Snowball Trees line this part of the canal.
