Holiday Thoughts...the Power of Music and Positive Thoughts
This was not the post I was going to write...and may not have taken the time to write tonight. Returning from a Packer Party clicking the remote to catch the weather....instead there was a Christmas program with a gal singing...."Let there be Peace on Earth."
In my former family, it was always the recessional for funerals. I can see my Grandmother's and My Dad's recessions...walking back down the aisle that seemed to last forever amid the tears that still fall easily recalling the memories. My Mom didn't have a funeral, it would have been her choice as well.
If we have one thought this holiday season...though there need not be a holiday to keep this thought...."Let there be peace on earth and Let it Begin with Me."
If this were in the forefront on everyone's mind...replacing words like hate, ignorant and stupid...words that refer to people's opinions that differ from their own....Peace on Earth....and wishing it would begin with each of us. Accepting different mind sets...beliefs, likes and dislikes...it doesn't make you look smarter...better...more authoritative to openly be critical of another point of view. ...quite the opposite in many people's minds. The "out" is "I don't care if people don't agree with me...". "People understand I am outspoken" "People know...'need to know' where I stand..."I feel strongly about"...Can you find a constructive way to change, convince, convey your thoughts other than being harshly critical of others ? We can all think of a time we should have swallowed our words, not hit the keyboard...should not have picked up a pen....and did it anyway. Ahhhh...relief...? Should not be....
"Let there be Peace on Earth...and Let Begin With Me...and Thee."
