Success Tip 3 : 100,000 the number written; and then it happened

I keep a monthly desk calendar on my desk and all during the month I scribble all over it; sometimes email addresses, phone numbers, name of a book; I am a scribbler. The 100,000 I am talking about now goes back to when I was a manager for Old Stone Credit; a company that specialized in fixed rate second mortgage loans. The company had 63 branches nationwide and our average loan was $15,000 -this was more than 30 years ago. For the entire history of the company no branch had ever gained 100,000 in a month. ( A gain is to gain total loan amount.. So if a branch started the month with $1,000,000 the branch would end the month with $1,100,000 in loans ) That was told to me during group telephone meeting. I wrote 100,000 on my calender and just looked at the number. I thought about it a little but not much. 

Two months later my branch was the first branch ever to gain $100,000. Then another two months  we were the second branch to gain $100,000. I keep the calendars for a couple of months to make sue there are no notes that I need and then I throw them away. When I looked at the calendar I was  surprised to see that I had written "Gain $100,000" The conscious thought was ephemeral but the seed came to fruition.

Here is another example of 100,000. I was teaching a sales class and in our class I always require a "create" assignment. To use an example for the class I used the example "I attract Large Jumbo Loans". I wrote the entire process on a white  board. Less than 2 weeks later a banker and CPA referred me an $8,500,000 loan and the commission was $100,000.

 

Write down positive goals and let it happen.
