When I first read this I immediately thought of Jason Crouch down in Austin, Texas.  I have been subscribed to his blog for about 3 months now and have enjoyed reading about his family and how they relate with each other.  He has not been consulted about this post so I could be sued, gosh I hope not.  Jason is a great example and I would just like to recognize it and say thank you.

I would also like to say thank you to my grandfather who sacrificed a lot to raise both my brother and me and poured his life into us and never ask for anything.

A Father means so many things...

A friend for life.

A understanding heart.

A source of strength and of support

Right from the very start.

A constant readiness to help

In a kind and thoughtful way.

With encouragement and forgiveness.

No matter what comes your way.

A special generosity and always affection too.

A Father means so many things.

That's why we admire them and love them.

I am blessed with a caring husband and top notch father. He is gently punishing and really talks to our children and inspires them. Wonderful man as your grandfather is.

It is almost Father's Day, so Happy Father's Day to all you Fathers, Grandfathers and soon to be Fathers.  Let's make all of them feel special this year.  Gifts are not always what counts....call them, kiss them, hug them, prepare a meal for them and most of all visit with them!!!!!

This is such a great post, Don!  I love reading about Jason and his family as well!  They sound like alot of fun!  As for my husband as a father?  He didn't grow up with on - just his single mother.  BUT, I am amazed at his relationship with our son.  They are inseparable and share everything!  Not to mention - they look IDENTICAL!  It is actually creepy!  HAPPY FATHER'S DAY (albeit a little early) to all of the Father's out there and thanks!

Father's are hard to come by. If you have a good one you will definitely know.

This will be the 5th Father's Day that I will not have my Dad here to celebrate the day...I still cannot go past a greeting card display of cards for this day...or hear a radio commercial or see an ad for Dad's big Day without a tear sliding down my cheek, I miss him every day...it's an empty part of me that the memories try to fill but never really make it...If you still have a Dad...celebrate it...EVERY DAY !

Sally & David,

I know the feeling well, I lost my father in 1992 and the sad part of it is I did not know him very well even though I had tried.

Thank you so much for your comments.

Don - Thanks so much for the kindness toward me that you expressed in this post.  I hope you were kidding about being sued!  I can't imagine really ever suing anyone for anything, much less for saying nice things about me.  Have a great, great Sunday!

Jason,

Yes I was kidding about being sued.  But I thank you for being such a great example and the lessons that you are able to teach and they always come from the heart.

Likewise to you my friend, Have a Wonderful Sunday!
