Positive Media, we all need to contact all of our local media folks if we have any upswing in showing activity, sales or pending sales this past week or month or months.
Active rain is also its own form of media. Are you sick and tired of hearing all the negative press about the real estate market and the foreclosure rates and the creative ways people are trying to sell their homes....well maybe the last part may be interesting, but as for the negativity out there you can cut it with a knife!
Media coverage true or not INFLUENCES the masses...So we need to turn it around....Every chance you get, talk about how the bottom has been hit and the prices will be going up soon! That is not a lie, this was actually addressed in a recent Wall Street Journal article.
When someone asks you how is business....This is Sales 101 here, but say....It is fantastic!!! Things are really turning the corner...You are busier than you have been in months or a year!
We have to put a POSITIVE Spin on this situation, so write positive things here on Active Rain, do not dwell on the negative. We can take the bull by the horns and turn this thing around...Find anything positive that you can talk about with regard to real estate and make it a reality for the masses out there.
As some of you may know Lake Lanier here in GA has been going thru a terrible record breaking drought, so our lake lanier market is depressed, however things are looking up and in my blog on my appraiser site, I always slant it in a positive way, you know the glass is half full, etc.
We also started a radio show. www.lakefrontradio.com for the sole purpose of helping the Lake Lanier businesses out, so we have been conducting a positive radio show for many businesses on Lake Lanier and it has helped them to bring about positive change on this Lake. YOU may want to start your own show of some kind in your area to bring about positive change, people will love you for it and you will get the recognition you deserve for helping people out.
So go out there, smile big, tell them business is popping and even if this is so far from the truth....Do it anyway! You attract many more flies with honey than vinegar
