A Way Around The Proxy Server Mishaps

By
Home Stager with Prudential Ambassador / Ross Designs, LLC

Okay, I don't really understand what the "proxy errors" are all about or how long they are going to continue. I DO know how frustrating it is to lose an artfully crafted blog comment or post.

To avoid cursing at the computer, I suggest the following:

 - Blog Posts - type it in Microsoft Word first (easier to use the spellcheck there anyway!) and copy and paste into AR. If you lose it to the "proxy error" gremlins you can always re-paste.

 - Blog Comments - after typing in comment, highlight your comment, right click and copy.  If you lose your comment after submitting you can paste it in there again.

And if anyone has any words of wisdom about eliminating the errors I would love to hear from you!!!

Tori - I thought it was something wrong with my computer with all the proxy server errors.  That is a good idea about copying the comment before hitting post.  I did get a proxy error message after a comment tonight, but when I checked the blog the comment was there.  I was lucky that time.
When we copy and past a blog from word does google penalize us for copying and pasting - same thing with AR; I thought they didn't like it if we copied and pasted.  Or is that just with something that has already been posted to he web.

Pam -- hmmm, I am not sure about the "cut n paste" and how that affects AR or google. Maybe someone else will answer with some insight.

David - not having any issues that I know of.  I will have to check it out. Thanks for the word on T. Stiles' blog!

Good idea - especially with the blog entries.

I wish the problem would get corrected. It really is a pain. Also, does in seem like AR is operating a lot slower than other sites? Especially when there are alot of users online?

Tory: I think it is better to write your post in NotePad. It doesn't have the formatting compatibility problems you will get with Microsoft Word. You can also type your blog into the AR blog box, then copy and paste it into NotePad before hitting the post button.

Michelle - thanks for the info!

Melissa & Marketing-Real-Estate - not sure why the errors aren't cleared up yet; I would have thought by now the problem would be solved.  It is VERRRY frustrating when it takes so much longer to read through blogs and make comments.

I don't know about you all but I found I only have that problem when using Firefox. So when it happens I simply switch to explorer or safari.
