You ever hear about airing dirty laundry? Yup. That's what happens on the internet when one airs their dirty little secrets for all to see...forever and ever. You just never know when it'll pop up to bite you in the behind again. You just never know when it'll pop up to help someone.
I was so upset about the occupants upstairs NOT airing their dirty laundry about their flood, leak or whatever it was....that happened over a week ago.
I have been wondering why someone would wait until "something" happened before even acknowledging that "something" happened....until a week "after the fact". A week later....when it all came tumbling down.
I'm more upset now. There's MOLD.
Now I'm more concerned with the mold that is now forming above our ceiling and who knows...in between our walls. We peeled away more of the drywall and lo and behold....MOLD.
It all comes out in the wash.
Important tips regarding water leaks and mold:
- Often directly related to water damage
- It only takes some type of water intrusion or water condensation to start the process
- It only takes 24 hours for the process to begin
- Even after the moisture has stopped the mold continues to grow
- Indoor mold spores can be seen OR smelled.
- Health risks if inhaled, ingested or contact to skin in pores, cuts etc.
- Health problems include, allergic reactions, irritation of tissues, infections and toxic effects.
- Ventilate your home consistently as it will dilute and flush out the mold particles.
- Get a professional to help you with the extraction and clean up.
Believe me, you don't want to be responsible for causing the health problems of other neighbors or your family when you don't report or notify your condo neighbors of a flood or leak. You don't want to be responsible for further water damage to yours and anothers unit.
Being proactive and taking preventive measures are the only way to go. Air that dirty laundry to prevent futher damages.
Because it will always come out in the wash in the end anyway.....
