So, okay, I was trying to get a little alliteration into that title, but it was kind of hard!

Anyway, the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics are going to be facing each other for the NBA Championship for the first time in over 20 years.  Boston fans are understandably more excited than Laker fans, since the Lakers have got several rings on their fingers in the last few years, while the Celtics were a shadow of the once-great franchise.

There was a pretty interesting article about the Lakers' success as a California sports franchise at The Press Enterprise.com

 In making Southern California their own, as the dominant franchise in the five counties that encompass the Los Angeles media market, they have provided a rare unifying force in a region of disparate cities.

"There are so many things that divide us in this community because of geography," said David Simon, president of the Los Angeles Sports Council. "Even the weather is different if you drive 10 miles. We don't share a common urban experience like cities on the east coast.

"One thing that brings us together is sports, either a team that everyone can rally around or a big event that touches everybody."

In the Lakers, you have both.

And it has been that way for a long enough time that this isn't a case of merely hopping on a winner's bandwagon.

The Lake show need some home cooking or they could be on their way fishing for lunch.

I don't understand the ref complaints.  The refs can't call fouls if people are not going to the basket.  Odom was the only player attacking the rim.  Kobe was a jump shooter.  You don't supposed to foul jump shooters.

I'm hoping for a competitive game.

It is over for the 2007 - 2008 NBA Season. 

Boston Celtics are World Champs amidst a controversy of fixed games, something I have suspected since the 1999-2000 Conference Finals, the Lakers vs. Trailblazers.

What about the Dodgers as a rally cry?  You'll bre amazed at the fin who bleed Dodger Blue!

Looking to lick was a dream in the mind of a heartless Lakers team.  Kobe is too cool!  He can turn it on when he want was his words; he was trying to get his team involved.  They put 3, 4 and sometimes 5 people on him during game 6.

The Lakers had a good year; hopefully they can make the playoffs next year.  I'm not a fortune teller.
