It never ceases to amaze me the workmanship that I see in some of the houses that I see built today. This menagerie was used to support a support column for a set of arched load bearing walls in a high end house in Brentwood. The sellers did not get a home inspection when they purchased the house a few years back and now they are having to bear the expense of the builders error.

Have you joined my birthday alarm? It is fast painless and the best part of all, you will be helping me out.

Because I need your help, subscribe to my blog.

Thanks, Michael

Hi Michael;

I feel sorry for any buyer who purchase a home without an inspection.

Susan is 30+ years as a builder I have never seen an inspector go in a crawl space:) People don't get inspections done because they just plain don't know what they don't know.

Boy -- a good illustration of why ALL buyers should spend the money for a home inspection.

I have to admit, that's one half assed job.  It just goes to show you can pay a fortune and still end up with shoddy work... luckily it keeps the smart fellows like you in business.  :)

This is pretty scary. It helps you understand the term "Buyer Beware."

What a shame. I have a seller going through some costly repairs because her home inspector didn't catch several items when she bought the house.

I too wonder about the other inspectors... doesn't anyone have to take responsibility for 'passing' a home when it is built?

WOW, I have seen some serious piles of S*%& before too, but this one is amazing.  I think the sellers should contact the builder and order it rebuilt properly.  If that doesn't work, contact a (dare I say) an attorney.

Micheal, That's pretty scarey.  I had a friend who went to his house every day and inspected the work and anything he didn't like, he was on the phone with the contractor.  Now I understand why he did.  The contractor couldn't wait to finish up that house.  LOL.
