December 31 - the last day to spend or give money that will result in a deduction on your 2018 Income Taxes.
We may all feel "spent out" from Christmas, but depending on what you'll save, it might be worth it to invest a bit in business expenses today. If nothing else, it's a good day to pay those deductible bills that will be due in the first couple of weeks of January.
If you want to estimate how much you'd save on taxes for every $100 you spend today, check out the post I wrote last week: https://copybymarte.com/only-6-days-left/
It has the IRS tax tables, so a quick look at your bookkeeping program to see your income and expenses for 2018 should tell you whether you'll gain by the percentage of tax you'll pay, or whether a few expenditures will push you into a lower tax bracket.
And - only you know whether you'll itemize and thus save money by making donations today, but whether or not you will, the charities you love will appreciate it!
You have a few hours left - get busy!
Meanwhile... HAPPY NEW YEAR!
