. We remodeled our kitchen a couple years ago....with everything we thought we wanted...built in coffee machine...tons of storage., huge walk in pantry with outlets..monster island with cooktop, pull out sheves, warming drawer.... later added a beverage refrigerator with Bamboo 
cutting board top....ahhh....life is good...we LOVE to cook. We are not the collectors of all things appliance and prefer to keep that simple...kitchen aid standing mixer and blender...hand cutting, shaping, carving accessories. Life is good...But....could it be better...one more thing.... Kitchen Aid makes a more than durable standing mixer... people have been known to pass them on for generations with no repairs...we have all the attachments and it is invaluable in our kitchen. The only issue is that while it has its place in the pantry...there are plugs in the pantry...I don't want to cook ...make that mix in the pantry.! this dead weight hasorsometimes meant
trips to the chiropractor, acupuncturist massage just not bending/lifting correctly. SOoooo since I use it frequently and David is not always home to move it...we had to find a solution....and Hanson Claus and his Elf Engineer did just that. The final bamboo wood mounting shelf is on order from our millwork supplier.
Life is GOOD...Better ...Now BEST ...here is my valuable mixer tucked away under the island on it's temporary board. Happily awaiting the next assignment of soup...or dessert confection.
With "gentle prodding" the hinge allows the mixer to swing up to counter top height without injury to body parts ! Yaaah !!!!!
Easy to use....love, lovel, love it...who would think a piece of hardware could be soooo wonderful !
If you aren't using your mixer because it is too heavy...takes up too much room...we encourage you to investigate the installation of this ohhhh soooo wonderful hinge/slide that delights my heart and makes our kitchen so much easier to mix things up !
