As 2018 finishes filling the bottom of the annual hourglass, it's nice to tick off a project I've been working on intermittently for months.
When Google Chrome announced they'd be putting up warning banners if your site wasn't SSL, that added a To Do for most of us that have our own websites. We have a Wordpress site and that's required me learning things over the years that technically have zip to do with real estate, but if you want your marketing and lead gen to work, you best learn or hire out!
So over the summer I implemented SSL and that didn't prove overly difficult. However, I had a lot of pages that used photos from my ActiveRain blog posts and they were from the days when ActiveRain was http and not https. The net result was some pages weren't as secure as they might be, so I needed to update my IDX pages, other pages and posts with photos that were hosted via my Wordpress site.
It was a catch as catch can type post, some pages corrected here and there as time allowed. The nice thing about this time of year is the last two weeks of December are typically vacation from my engineering job. And real estate? It's pretty slow during the holidays too.
That gave me the time to focus on some of my To Do list items and that included completing the photo updates to all those pages and posts.
As of this afternoon, task complete! What passes for excitement in an engineer/real estate agent's life :)
Happy New Year everyone!!
