I have a positive and good news post to share...One of my clients from years past called me this past week to shout the good news that they can now purchase investment property. 
This couple sure has had their fair share of trials and tribulations in their life...from marital problems, lost 2 homes due to late payments, no jobs for a period of time, and most recently a pole barn fire where they lost cars and some of their family possessions. (they had insurance!)
Since last meeting with them, they have both gotten full time jobs (sometimes even 2 jobs each) to pay off their debt and keeping everything current AND even. A little money in the bank, marriage is back on track and a wonderful, positive attitude that everything happens for a reason...and that when one door closes another opens.
They now view their ability to be able to purchase investment property as the first door that is opening to them. I couldn't be happier for them. I've talked to and seen them at their worst and now at their best. At a time when so many are struggling to make ends meet.
They worked hard to pay off their modest home...now they want to make an investment to create a future.
We have all seen how financial issues can take a toll on a marriage. We have seen many people hit with unexpected life issue just fold and go down for the count. This young couple got themselves in trouble but didn't give up. They struggled, and within all the disappointment and despair they keep one thing in mind....each other and what a life together could be as they had seen it on their wedding day.
My hat is off to them. They are a great example of what can be done when turning bad choices into good ones.
Two kids in high school and they are on track! Good grades, having fun enjoying their family life.
