What the New Year Looks Like In Sedona...

A blanket of Purity of Snow...

Purity is very fragile when it takes physical manifestation. It is very, very strong in its original aspect.

Hi Endre Barath, Jr. - The entire state of AZ has had winter advisories. This is pretty unusual weather.

Hi Sheri- I have to agree with Francine Viola your photos are postcard perfect. I do forget that you get snow there!!!

Hi Kathy Streib - Yes!  Sometimes I forget also.  It was last February when we had some snow. It evaporates and melts so fast you almost forget you got it!  Not this time. There is still snow on the ground.

I never think of AZ as snowy....and in this picture right at the minute, you have more than we do in Wisconsin.

Hi Sally K. & David L. Hanson - Any of the mountain areas or areas over 3000 ft have potential for snow.  We are at 4536 ft. so we usually see flurries or some snow but it does not last.

Morning Sheri.

That photo would have me second guessing about moving to Sedona.  So, how long will it last before it melts?

Jan 03, 2019 01:42 AM
Sheri Sperry - MCNE®

Hi James Dray - The snow is usually gone the very next day. At the very most we might see it lasting 2 to 3 days about once every 2 or 3 years.  Some snow stays a little longer in shady areas but it evaporates quickly.

Wow Sheri, I did not know you got that must snow in your area.  We normally have 20 inches in December and this year we had 8 inches.

Your photos are keepers! I would like to think it snowed for Tristin's sake!

Hi Sheri

No words needed, indeed. What splendor! I saw Sedona in the snow a few years ago and it was amazing, especially having only been there in the summer.

Thank you for sharing nature’s beauty!
