LISD (Lewisville Independent School District)
Important dates for 2019 - 2020 include the following:
- The first day of school is August 13
- Winter Break is December 23 - January 3
- Spring Break is March 16 - 20
Early Childhood (Programa de Preescolar)

LISD Discover Academy
Tuitition based full0-day pre-kindergarten program for children ages 3-4. Emphasis on early literacy, STEAM, and playful learning. Extended hours are available. Locations may be added depending on interest:

Valley Ridge Elementary
LISD STEM Academy
Hands-on, collaborative learning through instruction that mixes science and technology into every class.

*New STEM campuses will open in the Marcus High School attendance zone (2020) and The Colony High School Attendance zone (2021)

FLOWER MOUND LIBRARY
Due to growth and use by patrons, the Flower Mound Library built in 2000 and its 25,000 square feet building has outgrown its space. The new library expansion will be 40,000 square feet. The groundbreaking is scheduled for March 2019. Residents can look forward to the following changes:
- A dedicated children's storytime/program area
- A family bathroom
- A dedicated teen area with four more study rooms to the existing three
- A digital media lab with professional-level software
- A second multipurpose room.
The southern portion of the expansion will include the following:
- An enclosed quiet reading room for adults
- A large area for special display, new materials, and cases for local artists
