Digital Marketing For a Realtor

One of the most important things as a blogger is to have exceptional content. Without the best content not nearly as many people are going to come back for more of what you have to say. There is a reason they say content is KING!

If you want to be found on the first page of Google, you darn well be focused on delivering the best information on the topic you are writing about! Competition is fierce when it comes to writing today. More and more real estate agents have started to blog. You are also up against a plethora of content writers for national real estate sites as well.

You don't have to go far to see that many of the same people find themselves on page one for whatever they are writing about. There is a reason for that!

So if you have the content creation part of it down what else can you do? The answer is simple. Aquire valuable links to your content. Links are like votes. Besides the quality of content, links tell Google you are worthy of being discovered.

So while content is king, links are a very close second. The quality of where the links are coming from also matters a lot. There is nothing more powerful in the world of search than these two factors.

You can get advice from those that call themselves SEO gurus all day long, but these two factors are what make a difference.

Over the years lots of real estate agents have asked me where to get quality links from. What I am going to show you now is where you can get links from a few decent places you probably have never heard about.

So grab your cup of coffee and let's go.

Real Estate Bloggers Group on Reddit

Most people have probably heard about Reddit. You may have even set up a personal profile at some point and forgot about it. Maybe you are like me and found that it was impossible to market your real estate content there?

There was always a someone moderating that seemed not to be too friendly to real estate agents. You needed to be part of the in-crowd to get anything done there. Well not anymore! A good friend of mine, Luke Skar has put together a real estate bloggers group on Reddit where you can share your best blog articles!

One of the great things about this is that the links coming from the group are DO FOLLOW. While the group is new, over time, this group could become a powerhouse in the eyes of search engines. All of the content being added to the group comes from an exceptional group of bloggers!

Here is my advice - reach out to either Luke or me and join! You will need to give us your profile name so you can be invited to the group.

Readory

Readory has become one of my favorite sites for real estate content marketing. Readory is very simple to use. You just sign up and share the URL of the article you want to share. The page will populate the information found on the site including the title of the article and a description box.

It is sound advice to always provide at least a few sentences in your description. The more detailed you can be the better. Remember that Google will look at these pages and give a score to them. Are you providing useful information?

Readory is a great place to place a link the moment you write a new article. You can see my real estate articles I have shared here: Bill Gassett's real estate articles on Readory. Adding your best real estate content to Readory will literally take you less than two minutes of your time.

You will notice on their dashboard you can recommend articles. It is a voting system that will move content up to the front page into what's called their "trending" category. Obviously, this should be a goal, so more people see your content.

This site is fairly new, so there is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor. I will mention that their server is a bit wonky at times. You might have to refresh the page a few times to get things to work.

Readory lets you post one article every hour. Links on Readory are do follow.

Collecting Wisdom

Collecting Wisdom is another excellent site for sharing your real estate articles. It is a financial site so you must share appropriate content here. Make sure you are not sharing something outside of the scope of things related to finance, mortgages and real estate.

Another thing worth mentioning about Collecting Wisdom is that you are only allowed to post two articles to the site a day. You can see my real estate articles I have shared here: Bill Gassett's articles on Collecting Wisdom. Like Readory, you are also able to vote on the articles you enjoy the most.

Links on Collecting Wisdom are Do follow.

Contentle

Contentle is more like a social bookmarking site but a place to get a link for your content none the less. Just plug in the URL you want to share, and Contentle will do the work for you. A title to your article and a description will populate. It is always a good practice, however, to change up your titles.

Unlike the Readory and Collecting Wisdom, the links at Contentle are No Follow. You can see my real estate articles I have shared on Contentle here: Bill Gassett's Real Estate articles on Contentle.

There are no rules about how many articles you can share or what they are about.

Flipboard

Flipboard is probably a site you have heard about. In fact, it can be found in most social sharing tools. Flipboard allows you to "flip" stories onto boards that people can follow. Flipboard is a very popular site. You can see my real estate board I have created here: Bill Gassett's real estate articles on Flipboard. Make sure you are sharing other peoples content and not just your own.

Listly

Listly is a site you may have heard about as it has been around for quite a while. The concept with Listly is simple. You create lists about different topics. For example, you could create a list of the best real estate articles for selling a home.

There are endless possibilities of the types of lists you can create. Listly has a free and paid version. I would recommend the paid as all of your lists will be able to be seen by search engines. I believe there is a limit on non paid accounts.

You can see all of my Listly lists here: Bill Gassett's real estate articles on Listly. Take a look at my lists and see if it makes the light bulb go off in your head on what you would like to do.

Final Recap

So there you have it - these five excellent places to get some traction on your real estate content! Real Estate content marketing is something that takes consistent work to see results. You should have a long term plan when it comes to online exposure.

Don't expect to get instant results. If you put in the time, however, you will be rewarded.

Bonus tip

Social media is also a great place to get traction for your real estate articles as well. You are probably sharing to your profile already but what you should be doing is sharing the best social media groups for real estate agents as well.

Social media groups have far more members and followers than your profile will. These are excellent places to see significant eyeballs on your content.
