Frederick Bean was born in Taylor, Texas back in 1908 to George and Mary. He graduated from North Dallas High School, after graduation he studied at the Chicago Art Institute. In 1928, he moved to Los Angeles where he found menial jobs. You could find him working at a warehouse, at the local docks, painting cars and loading fruits and vegetables.
With his love for art he soon was hired at Universal Studio where he moved up the ranks promoted to the position of animator. He moved several times doing other work for various studios before being hired at The Walt Disney Studio’s. In 1941, he was hired by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer with a five-year contract, he left in 1953. He died in 1980 from lung cancer in Burbank, California.
What you may not know about Frederick Bean “Tex” Avery is that he brought to life the characters of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porkey Pig, Elmer Fudd, Droopy, Screwy Squirrel, George and Junior and Chilly Willy.
