According to the national map by county that GasBuddy.com prepares and that I include on my other blog, only 4 counties in the US now have gas below $3.69 a gallon. If I am reading the map correctly, there are just 2 counties in Wyoming and one each in Missouri and Arkansas where this is the case.

It was just a little over 2 weeks ago (May 15th) that I posted an article here on AR about how I had found gas in our area for only $3.67 and how that was a bargain compared to other local prices. That price is but a distant memory as gas today is 30 cents more and barely keeping below the $4.00 mark.

Won't it be fun a few months from now (I certainly hope so anyway) when we can look back at how outrageously high the prices used to be.

April, that's definitely something I can do without. I find that hard to believe but who would have thought we'd be at $4.00 gas ever?

I'm hoping for the best...!  Maybe, a few months from now, this will all be like a bad dream...  A distant memory...   :)

Debi, that's a great thought - a bad dream,. I like that. Well, I hope we all wake up soon. :)

Steve...we are paying for our gluttonous ways of the past.   It is a surprise that habits have not changed a lot with the extra high price.

William, I'm not sure that consumption is the fault - it's a matter of supply - of gas and other fuel sources. Do you suppose if Krispy Kreme was the only donut manufacturer in the country because it was too expensive for others to get into the game or that people just hadn't considered starting such a company that donut consumption would rise to the physical limts of Krispy Kreme to meet that demand - notwithstanding $10/donut as an unsuccesful attempt to quell demand - without anyone else deciding to start producing donuts? It's compeition that will drive down gas and oil prices, not a drop in demand.
