Realtors in Collin County met this week to discuss the economic forecast for 2019 and also to learn some great ways to build their business and help more families this year. We heard from Johnny Quinn, US Olympian & former NFL player, Lori Ballen, with Ballen Brands, Egypt Sherrod, HGTV Host & Realtor, and Jessica Lautz from the National Association of Realtors.
And from the National Association of Realtors, we learned some great market statistics like these:
**In most areas, sales and price appreciation will remain steady.
**Despite rising interest rates the strength of the residential real estate market in 2019 will look much like 2018
**Home sales (combined existing and new) are expected to increase a little less than 1 percent, from 5.97 million to 6.1 million across the country.
**In the DFW Area we are still seeing a housing shortage because for ever 3 new jobs we add, we only build 1 new house.
**Affordability will continue to be a concern for moderate-income buyers (not only in Texas but across the country).
