Gibson Island Amenities

This small yet lavish residence is made up of low-lying tidal wetlands, a 44-acre freshwater pond, and rolling hills. Because of its exclusivity, only 30% of the land accommodate residents, and homeowners are treated to fresh open space, untamed forest, bird sanctuary, and recreation that make up the rest of the two-thirds of the area. Gibson Island is home to waterfront estates of varying opulence, from humble dwellings to fantastic townhomes and manor. Houses range from their architecture like Colonial, French, Spanish, Gothic, Art Deco, contemporary, and modern among others. Because of its location, Gibson Island is itself a cove of the Magothy River, which provides safe passage and anchorage of boats for the residents. While Gibson Island lacks in commercial shops, they make up for in various recreational activities wherein residents can pursue the executive club, The Gibson Island Club. The club features one of the country’s finest nine-hole golf course designed by the world-renowned golf architects, Seth Raynor and Charles Blair Macdonald, excellent dining experience, and yachting in their nationally renowned Yacht Squadron. Aside from golf, members can also enjoy playing other sports like skeet shooting, croquet, and tennis that are available for a year-round play with the locals. Outside the members-only club, entertaining activities can still be done around the area which includes fishing, sailing, swimming, and boating.

Regarding education, Gibson Island residents have a selection of public and private schools in the Anne Arundel County where they can send their kids to. The institutions available are Bodkin Elementary School, Magothy River Middle Schoool, Chesapeake Bay Middle School, and Broadneck High School. Anne Arundel County has an excellent adult average educational attainment in comparison to the national average. Around 93.3% of residents have a high school diploma while 42.3% have a Bachelor's Degree or higher.
