I wanted to give a shout out to Katerina Gasset for all the help on my website Http://westbloomfieldlakehomes.com She had helped me set it up and worked on some of the SEO for me. The website is already up there on google already for some of the pages
.
What I have to warn everybody is that it takes sometimes 3 to 12 months for SEO work to take effect. The key is to hire a reputable SEO person to help you and be consistent on what you are doing. You can't expect results in 1 or 2 months. That very seldom happens. My thoughts on SEO are the more you do the more likely it is going to help in the long run. Keep link building. Keep working on social media links. Keep deep interlinking on your website. Do deep linking on your active rain blog back to your website.
I am a big believer in not fighting Zillow, realtor.com, or the big sites for my main keyword. My goal is to own google for my interior webpages. I write a page on my website for each keyword I want. Then I blog, interlink, and work on the seo for that page.
One trick I do is do an incognito search on Google for my keyword. Then I find my website on the google pages. Then I take the link of that page and use it in a blog. For example I used "big all sports lakes in West Bloomfield" as my keyword search. As you can see I own the first page of google for that keyword. I have 8 of the 10 spots for my websites and blogs. But I am a greedy man. I want to have as many spots on page one. People will realize that I am the expert on this subject if all they see is my articles on google. So if you notice on page two of google I have the links http://www.michiganrelocationguides.com/West-Bloomfield-Relocation (one of my websites ) and https://realtytimes.com/advicefromtheexpert/item/1022845-largest-lakes-in-west-bloomfield-township (an article I wrote on Realty Times) These two articles are on page 2 spots number two and three. I want to move them up for that key word. So I link it on one of my blogs in order to move it up the rankings. It may not help for a while but if you do this trick and research your own key words and where your website ranks it will help. If you are on page one and want to move it up the ranking do the same thing. It does help over time.
Here are the steps again
1.) Incognito search
2.) Pick your keyword
3.) Find your website page
4.) Copy the link
5.) Use the link in a blog or somewhere to build another link (ask an Active Rain member to link to that page) Write on realtytimes, activerain, tumbler, another wordpress blog site you may have, or your business facebook page to give you a good link.
6.) Do not do it every day, try to do it once every two weeks on different platforms so the link doesn't look suspicious. Also vary the keyword. Even use "click here" or "for more information click here" or "learn more"
What you are doing is working to move that website page up the google ranking. The more links the better. Another trick is go back into the page now and then and add to it. Write more. Google does like long articles, but who of us have the time to write 2000 word articles.
Bing
Google is constantly changing. So you may not be on top this year but your work this year may put you on top next year. Getting your website pages on page one of google takes time and lots of hard work. I probably spent over 200 hours building this 75 page website. http://www.westbloomfieldlakehomes.com
But pages like "Vhay Lake Bloomfield" are starting to show up on page 2 of google. Keep working it and it will become one of the top websites on google. Thanks again Katerina!
