In 20 minutes you can land yourself on the scenic Mountain Loop Highway and go back in time with short hike to the famous Monte Cristo Ghost Town.

Near many Ski Resorts: If winter sports are your thing then you may skiing at Stevens Pass or Mt Baker (home to the World record of snowfall). There has been great skiing all year in the mountain and I have gotten up a few times already. Also, there are many snowmachine parks close by if that is more your style.
