Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - Review

The movie is set in 1957, nearly 20 years after the last one and Indiana Jones is still up to his old tricks. The flick strikes the right balance between taking the character's age into account, and still giving us a sense of adventure. This new flick was a very good attention-grabbing film. It did lose a little of the Indy strength the other three films had, but I suppose that on account of the extended wait we had to hang around for this film. Nevertheless, to be honest it was worth the wait. I recall seeing the first film when I was 9 years old and I was surprised at what I was seeing. As a result, when I found out they are making a new one, I was happy I get to relive my childhood all over again. The special effects were good in this film and the scenery was breathtaking as it usually is.

I don't want to give away too much of the story line, but the story is basically a competition between Indy and a troop of Russians to find a crystal skull that the Russians believe is a weapon of massive power. The expedition for the skull takes Indy from the desert to deep into the Amazon Rain Forest.

I, like a lot of people, was somewhat not looking forward to this movie. It has some things I wasn't fond of; there's a wacky Tarzan-inspired sequence with aggressive monkeys that jars, and just occasionally the action can go a bit over the top. The plot does sometimes seem a little complicated. But the heart is still very much there. I have to say I've seen much, much worse than this one. The film did not bore me to tears at all and held my attention from start to finish. Overall Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull were worth the wait and it worth every penny of the ticket price.

Good review Vincent.  I'm definitely planning on checking this one out.  I love Harrison Ford and the humor in these films.
