What to Do When You Don't Know What to Do

It's the saddest thing when you don't know what you want to do for a career. My nephew is going to be entering his junior year of High School and still has no idea what he wants to do. I know he still has a lot of time, BUT this has caused a lack of motivation to go to college, and his grades are suffering as a result.

I guess he thinks, why put any effort into school work when I don't even know if I want to go to college.

I was very fortunate to know what I wanted to do at an early age and that motivated me to do well in school.

My nephew is considering working for a plant only because they make good money, but I'm discouraging it because the work-life balance is seriously off. They tell you when to work (Where I live the plant's schedules one week "days" and the next week could be "nights") and they work 12+ hours a day.

Nothing is consistent. The only good thing is that they pay well, but is that really enough?

I'm desperate to motivate him to try new things. There are so many ways to make money online; I found out he can sell products on Amazon, or even start his own business.

I found some cool articles on passive income ideas and even ways to make money from your phone, and I hope something sparks his interest. It's all about finding what works for him.

Have you been in a place where you didn't know what you were going to do with your life as far as a career or have any children in this place?

This is real, and it's important to figure it out sooner than later. I really want our youth to discover the freedom and power of entrepreneurship, but I understand that everyone does not have that passion, and that okay.

I'd love to hear your advice on what to do with our youth when they don't know what to do?
